Rev. Colette Bachand-Wood, whose father died of complications related to dementia, is a graduate of Episcopal Divinity School and spent seven years of research and work with Alzheimer’s and other dementia-related disease patients.
Rev. Colette currently runs a monthly caregiver support group and currently serves as rector of All Saints Episcopal Church in Whitman, Massachusetts. She is passionate about building dementia friendly communities and has completed several specialized training programs in order to help best serve the families she works with. She has received special training in working with those with dementia while serving as a hospice chaplain, and she has also been trained with “Dementia Friendly Massachusetts.”
She is a certified dementia specialist and a clergy member of the Dementia Friendly Massachusetts Initiative. She has been guest speaker and panel member at several Massachusetts area conferences, support groups, and professional groups, and is a facilitator of bereavement programs in nursing homes for staff members.
Rev. Colette lives in Scituate with her husband, two daughters, and mother.
