Ingredients
- 5 lbs pork legs
- 1 cup beer
- 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
- salt to taste
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F.
- Wash the pork leg and season lightly with salt.
- Score the skin, making a crosswise pattern.
- Place a layer of foil on top of a large baking sheet. Grease the foil before placing the pork leg on the sheet.
- Pour the oil into a medium saucepan and heat through.
- Carefully pour the hot oil onto the pork. Place the pork in the oven.
- After 15 minutes of baking, reduce the oven temperature to 365°F. Take out the pork and pour 1/3 cup of the beer on top before returning it to the oven.
- After approximately 1.5 hours, pour over another 1/3 cup of beer.
- After another 30 minutes, pour over the final 1/3 cup of beer.
- Increase the oven temperature back to 425°F. Let bake another 20 minutes or until the internal temperature of the meat reaches at least 145°F.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for at least 15 minutes before carving. Enjoy!
